Winter Backpacking Tip
Winter Backpacking Tip:
Traditional water bottles may freeze in winter backpacking, but a Nalgene bottle can be an indispensable solution to carry water in winter backpacking. Fill the Nalgene Bottle with boiling water when available, and store it upside down in your pack to prevent the cap threads from freezing, and it can keep the water lukewarm most of the day.
Straying hydrated in winter is harder than it is in summer, and warm water helps prevent ice-cream headaches.
A Nalgene bottle with hot water may be used inside your sleeping back to keep you warm.
So, we suggest you carry a 1Liter and a couple of .5Liter Nalgene bottles while backpacking in the winter.
